Welcome Reception & Networking

Finish the first day with a welcome reception and enjoy visiting colleagues both old and new!  All are invited to mingle on the River Deck at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville, enjoy sweet and savory hors d’oeuvres, cash bar, and enjoy the terrific views of the St. John River and the city.

At NAPDS, we believe strongly that some of our best learning and networking occurs when we break bread together.  Included in your conference registration is breakfast and lunch on FRIDAY and SATURDAY (please note the corrected days).  We encourage you to make these meals an integral part of your conference experience.

Membership & Awards Luncheon

Public celebration of our successes is a part of our 9 Essentials.  You won’t want to miss this time of honoring exemplary partnerships, an outstanding dissertation, and the Jason Kinsey Friend of NAPDS. And, your conference registration includes membership in the Association.  This luncheon will give you the opportunity to meet your elected and appointed leadership as well as to learn more about the Association’s strategic plan, member benefits, financial position, and planned initiatives.

A variety of session formats

This year, the NAPDS National Conference offers two NEW session types for you to explore:

Paired concurrent sessions

This format will allow you to learn from two presentation teams on a similar topic and dialogue with presenters to extend your learning.

Next Gen questions sessions

Option 1: This non-traditional presentation format repositions questions at the center of the session. Presenters will share their questions and participants in the session will be asked to provide possible responses to the focal question that was posed. The role of the association membership is to provide as many solutions and/or suggestions as possible to the partnership that has raised the question. A Discussant, assigned by the association will provide a brief summary at the conclusion of the session.

Option 2:  This option is similar to the first, but the discussion will take on the format of a Twitter Chat!  Your question will be shared and then solutions and/or suggestions generated all via Twitter!

The conference will also offer traditional concurrent sessions as well as roundtable discussions and the student research session.
